Why join?

What can Freemasonry offer?

In joining any organisation, the satisfaction and enjoyment gained is directly related to the amount of effort you put into getting involved. Freemasonry is no different, through participation in our rituals, charity, or social activities.

Many freemasons find learning and performing the rituals give them the confidence to speak in front of others, and they find the efforts required very rewarding. Others make their contribution by performing small parts of the ritual as they feel able, but all enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded individuals.

Why join Alar in particular?

Whether you are looking to take your first steps into Freemasonry, or are already a Freemason, you will find Alar Lodge a very friendly and welcoming Lodge. The Lodge prides itself on its mix of members from all walks of life. You could find yourself sat next to someone who is, or was, a Farmer, Accountant, Engineer, Merchant Seaman, Musician, Civil Servant, or in the Armed Forces.

Opportunities

Alar is also a Lodge that can provide opportunities for Joining Members. Most of the brethren have held all the offices of the Lodge, and served as Worshipful Master, and would be pleased to give advice for any member wishing to advance.

If you are content to do so, you could choose to remain a Master Mason in Craft Freemasonry for your entire Masonic career. It is entirely up to you, but once you have become a Master Mason there are other related Masonic Orders that you could choose to join, and progress your interest. One natural progression is to become a Royal Arch Mason, and from Alar Lodge you could progress your Masonic career and join our affiliated Torch Royal Arch Chapter.
